Wheelchair Aid

After assisting a stroke survivor during work, I recognized the lack of safe, efficient tools for transferring from a car to a wheelchair. The Wheelchair Aid was designed to bridge this gap more securely.
Unlike standard transfer boards, the device straps directly to both the car seat and the wheelchair, creating a stable platform. A circular cutout helps the board fit snugly against the wheelchair, while two back supports prevent the wheels from rolling backward or tipping during use.

Setup is simple: secure the device to the seat and wheelchair, remove the wheelchair armrest, and position the back supports under the wheels. The user can then slide safely across the platform, using an adjustable, removable handle for added support. While not a complete solution, the Wheelchair Aid offers a safer, more discreet alternative to traditional transfer boards, with a dark, neutral color palette designed to minimize attention during use.
